Delft Studenten Rugby Club recently toured to South Africa from Netherlands for their 100th celebratory year with Freewalker Adventure Travel. The Dutch rugby club started their tour in Cape Town, Western Cape with a few organized group events and activities including climbing Table Mountain , touch rugby compo at Camps Bay, New Years party, site seeing and of course the first rugby match against False Bay Rugby Club. The touring team were treated to some great hospitality, a well-spirited match and a fun braai (barbecue) with the club afterwards. The 85 Dutch players continued their travels to Nelson Mandela Bay – South Africa to take on the Freewalker Barbarians side followed by a safari day at Schotia Safaris private game reserve and Addo Elephant National Park. The team enjoyed beach days and activities such as surfing, swimming, beer tastings and meals out in town. After a successful rugby tour to South Africa, we are looking forward to hosting future events such as this.
The touring party can only be commended on a successful time for all and the spontaneous and friendly spirit in which they played and travelled. Every single one of the DELFT players were grateful, thankful and always in great spirit throughout the tour.
