Murray Luscombe
Murray Luscombe is a sixth generation South African from the farming community near Graaff-Reinet. His childhood experiences inspired him to a lifestyle of work/adventure/fun. Murray has worked in the guided tour industry for over two years and decided to put his business education to good use and dedicate himself to his own Volunteer Working-Holiday South African Experience. He is also passionate about inspiring other people to experience the joys of volunteerism. Murray has a love for, and intimate knowledge of South Africa and a deep desire to improve conditions in a land that has many, many needs. He is always scouting out new adventures and unique experiences for his guests. He wants you to experience his country as only a South African can really show it to you! Each guest is unique and Murray puts a top priority on understanding what an individual is hoping to gain from their experience and then going the extra mile to make sure that is fulfilled.
Jordana Meyer
Jordana Meyer is an American farm girl who was introduced to South Africa while working on her Master’s Degree in behavioral endocrinology, specializing in elephants and rhinos. For any volunteers who are especially interested in South African wildlife she is a guide extraordinaire. She has spent several years living in the bush during her research and is very experienced in training volunteers from many countries during her work with the Smithsonian, George Mason University and Chicago’s Lincoln Park Zoo. Jordana has always believed in leaving the world a better place than how one finds it, and she was happy to join Murray at Freewalker as one way to further that aim, as well as to help others with similar goals. Jordana’s special passion is to bring her extensive knowledge of conservation into the classrooms and inspire a generation of South African children to share her love of their country’s wealth of wildlife.
In A Nutshell…We are just two enthusiastic, dynamic people trying to make a difference in this World and realized the impact of a small deed….We wanted to give travellers a different taste of this amazing Country…take them under our wings and share with them the wonders of a new culture, explore the vastly diverse landscapes and most importantly show them how they can make such a difference in another’s life with a simple smile or help to save endangered wildlife with passion in their hearts, and all while having the time of their lives! Therefore, Freewalker was created!
