I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to Freewalker for making my time in South Africa absolutely incredible. I was homesick and wanted to get home on the Friday morning. Friday afternoon Jordana Meyer and Murray Luscombe came to the reserve to pick volunteers up to take us out for the weekend. By Sunday evening, after a weekend with Freewalker, there was no doubt in my mind that I was to stay in South Africa. They had taken us around and had given us the opportunity to try so many amazing things including the highest bungy jump in the world. Two weeks later, after having such a brilliant time previously we organized another weekend with Freewalker. This was our last 3 days before returning to the UK so we had to make sure we had the best time possible and we had faith in these guys to ensure we had an amazing time. Over the course of the weekend we went surfing, quad biking and sandy beach horse riding which were all so good. For somebody that has always questioned the point in horse riding, it seems un-real that I have left South Africa keen to carry on horse riding back home. If it wasn’t for Freewalker I would have left South Africa earlier than planned with very few fond memories of my time there. Instead, I have returned home having had some of the most incredible experiences of my life with the photos taken by them too prove it. The work Jordana and Murray do is incredible, and I could not have asked to of met a nicer couple in my entire life. Thank you so much, you were exactly what I needed to ensure I had a brilliant time in a fantastic country.

HI ALL…..My girlfriend and I Spent this passed Easter weekend in Hogsback, Eastern Cape with Murray & Jordie, great friends and founders of freewalker! All I can say is watch this space – A truly hidden little treasure mystery land! Good times were had by all in the outdoors and another great South African destination on the freewalker route!

It’s hard to place all of your emotions into small, individual definitions because when you first get to the school and all the children come out to greet you, you experience a never ending kaleidoscope of feelings. You’re constantly surrounded by smiling little faces just wanting to play. You don’t really need any really skills to help only the ability to show kindness. The project that I was able to work on, helping Murray put carpet in the library, didn’t seem like much when you think about all that needs to be done, but it’s a nice little start. There are a lot of experiences I found that you could take away from Africa but one that I will always hold close to my heart for the rest of my life is giving a little help to a school in need.

Murray organized a trip away to the coast and it was action packed, one of the best times of my life!! We fitted in everything we all wanted to do and still had time to relax and enjoy great food and company!
